The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, located just 10 kilometers north of Chengdu, Sichuan Province, is a renowned facility dedicated to the conservation, breeding, and research of giant pandas. Established in 1987, the base initially began with six sick pandas rescued from the wild and has since grown into the largest giant panda research center in the world, now home to over 200 giant pandas​
